Woolworths Food Chicken Pie review

by Where's the pie? In the sky!

Hungry? So am I. Luckily I bought myself a Woolworths Food Chicken Pie. Will I be happy with it? Let's see...

Woolworths food is good quality, right? Well they ought to be for the high prices we pay for them.

Let's look at the packaging:

"Woolworths Food Chicken Pie. Pie. 520g. Golden, crisp pastry filled with chicken."

Yummy! My mouth is watering.

"Shortcrust pastry base filled with tender chicken in a light gravy, topped with a golden, crisp puff pastry lid."

Wow, they know just how to sell it eh?

"Food for thought:

Rich, shortcrust pastry base filled with succulent chicken in a light gravy. Covered with puff pastry and brused with free range eggs to ensure a golden, crisp topping once baked."

Note: Free range eggs. Not just any eggs. Har har.

How too cook? "Bake for 25 - 30 minutes until the pastry is crisp."

Allright, I'm doing so.

TIME PASSES.

So, I've eaten the pie. How was it?

Well, the pastry was nice.

Unfortunately, I can only ask: WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS WOOLWORTHS THINKING SELLING SUCH A PIECE OF REVOLTING PUKE-INDUCING GARBAGE?????

Seriously, it's terrible, terrible quality.

The inside of the pie is more of that salty thick yucky gooey gravy with no chicken meat in it other than those small little blocks of probably processed chicken that you get in really cheap, cheap "chicken" pies you buy at King Pie or such places.

No really, I must say I was very, very disappointed with this product. Look at the photo: Proper chicken breastmeat pieces with just a small amount of watery juicyness.

But in reality, this pie isn't like that at all. It's just salty brown gunk with propably no more than ten sparsely populated small micro chicken square chunks, not even fit for a dog to eat.

My final verdict: This is garbage. Don't waste your money on such low quality crap. Maybe in England or Europe or America this might pass as "food" suitable for human consumption, but in South Africa, this garbage is barely suitable for pigs to eat.

I must say I never thought Woolworths who have a reputation for selling quality foods, would ever let this abomination pass quality control. Or to blatantly deceive the consumer with such deceptive deceit of a photograph on the packaging which is just a lie through their teeth.
