Kellogg's Strawberry Pops: Delicious Strawberry Flavoured Oven-toasted Rice Grains

by Jeremy Jackson

I would like to talk about one of my very favorite cereals:  Kellogg's Strawberry Pops!

This is a really delicious breakfast food, and is very quick and easy to make:  Just add milk!

For me, the taste is also very refreshing.  I love it!

Benefits of Strawberry Pops:

Kellogg's Strawberry Pops are:

1.  Low in fat and free from transfatty acids (kids who eat cereal regularly have a healthier body weight).

2.  Made from real grains of corn, rice, wheat, rye or oats.

3.  Free from preservatives.

4.  Source of B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin) and iron.

The latter, B vitamins, are amazing:

Thiamine, riboflavin and niacin help release the energy in foods.

Iron helps carry oxygen around the body allowing children to have stamina to perform at their best.

Balanced Meal Suggestion Including Strawberry Pops:

To include Kellogg's Strawberry Pops in creating a good balanced meal, try having a bowl with a glass of milk and an apple.

The Strawberry Pops contributes carboyhydrates, vitamins and iron;  the milk protein, fat & calcium;  and the apple provides vitamins, minerals and fibre.  Children need fibre to keep blood sugar levels normal.

Use instead of Rice Crispies to make Rice Crispies squares:

Strawberry Pops look just like Kellogg's Rice Crispies, except they are pink and strawberry flavoured.  This makes them good to create a variant of the "Rice Crispies Square", which is made by mixing Rice Crispies and marshmallow.  Use Strawberry Pops instead to make pink squares that taste delicious!

Ingredients:

The ingredients of Kellogg's Strawberry Pops are as follows:  Rice, sugar, salt, Malt extraxt (Barley) (Gluten), Glycerol, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Flavouring, Colouring (E122, E551).

Extras included in buying this product:

What I liked about having bought a box of Kellogg's Strawberry Pops, is that it came chuck full of information.  Not only on the back did they include a lot of information about how this product can be included in the feeding of children, some information of which I have shared above, but also inside the box, there is a whole eating plan.

Aside from what is on the outside of the box, inside the box the extras include:

- Kids eating plan, with breakfast options, lunch options, dinner options and mid-morning & afternoon snack options.

- Tips for Mum, on how to keep food interesting and amusing to kids, so they would want to eat it.

- Meal Planning, with some tips on what foods to include

- Serving Size Guide, with groups of foods and how to size the serving of it;  including measurements of foods, plus practical general measuring methods, for example "30g of cheese is about the size of your thumb" etc.

- Lastly, they try to inspire you to "Get Active", with ideas on activities and games that will get the heart rate up.

In conclusion:

I love the extras they include.  I learn a lot reading through the information on and inside the box.  Inspiring too!

However, of course the main pleasure for me, is the delicious cereal!  Yum yum...
